2011 - NURS Board Members

Co-Chair:     Diane Grimaldi, PMHCNS, BC, PC

Diane Grimaldi has been in private practice for over 30 years and provides psychotherapy and psychopharmacological services for adults in Belmont and Gloucester office locations.

She specializes in the treatment of addictions, weight loss surgery preparation and follow up, depression, anxiety, and personality disorders. She has been co-chair of NURS since 2007.

Co-Chair:    Tedi Hughes, MSN, RN, PMHCNS-BC

Tedi Hughes is a Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist, Board Certified with a specialization in Child and Adolescent Mental Health.

 Tedi has been a member of NURS since 1997 and served as past Secretary 1998-2003, and has been the co-chair of NURS since 2003. She is currently the Director, Nursing Patient Services Inpatient Psychiatry Services at Children’s Hospital Boston, and has specialized in treating childhood trauma and other Behavioral Disorders. Tedi has several years experience in providing psychopharmacology services for Children and Adolescents in the community.

Board Member:    Sharon Reynolds, PMHCNS, BC

Sharon Reynolds has been in private practice for over 18 years and provides psychotherapy and psychopharmacological services for adults in the Newton area. Specialty areas are the treatment of PTSD, ADHD, anxiety and depression using a holistic approach. She was on the Practice Committee in 2006 and has been Legislative Committee chair for NURS since 2007
Board Member:    Virginia Tay, Ph.D., R.N. P.C.

Virginia (Ginny) Tay is Secretary of the Board of NURS and Chairperson of the Practice Committee. She has had long standing involvement with advanced practice issues in psychiatric nursing in Massachusetts and in NURS.

She practices psychotherapy and pharmacotherapy in Cambridge, Hingham and Easton. Her foci are individuals and families across the life span from adolescence to adulthood. Treatment modalities include individual, couple, and family therapy. She holds faculty appointments at Harvard Medical School at The Cambridge Hospital and at Northeastern University.

She is dually prepared as a Clinical Specialist in Psychiatric Nursing (MSN Yale University) and in Psychology (Ph.D. Boston College). She has specialty training in Psychoanalysis and Behavioral Medicine.

Board Member:    Deborah Van Etten, GNP, PMHCNS, BC

Deborah Van Etten is a Gerontological Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist. She has a psychotherapy and life coaching practice, and specializes in depression, bereavement, preoperative/postoperative counseling for weight loss surgical clients and adult children caring for aging relatives.

Deborah is also an Assistant Clinical Professor of Nursing at University of Massachusetts, Lowell and has been actively involved with NURS since 2007.)

Board Member:    Kathy Andolina, PMHCNS, BC, PC

Kathy Andolina is a Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist with more than 25 years of psychiatric nursing experience. Kathy provides psychopharmacology services and specializes in Adult ADHD, anxiety, depression, insomnia and other psychological and behavioral disorders. 

Kathy completed her Master's of Science degree in Nursing at the Boston College Graduate School of Arts and Sciences in 1986. She has been a member of NURS since 1980 and a member of the NURS Board since 2004. Kathy has particular interest in assisting NURS in its mission to promote fiscally sound clinical practices for the advanced practice nurse and preserving the future for this vitally important consumer option.   

Board Member:    Nancy Berkowitz, PhD, RN-CS, NP

Nancy Berkowitz is a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist. She provides psychotherapy and psychopharmacology services for adults, adolescents and children in Wellesley and Canton office locations. She is a Certified Internal Family Systems psychotherapist. She sees individuals, families and couples for relationship issues, depression, anxiety, ADHD, and trauma. Nancy has been involved in NURS since 2007 and has been Treasurer since 2008.
